These terms cover the SudoCut application at www.sudo-cut.com, this site at company.sudo-cut.com, and the closed-beta waitlist. "SudoCut", "we" and "us" mean the company operating the service from the United States; "you" means the person or organisation using it.
By signing in, uploading footage, or joining the waitlist, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
1. The closed beta
SudoCut is an invite-only closed beta, and everything below follows from that.
- Access is by invitation, to a small number of channels.
- There is no subscription. The beta itself is free; the only payment that exists is one-time credit packs (section 6).
- Beta software breaks. Features may change or be withdrawn, a job may fail, a processing result may be wrong. There is no uptime commitment and no guaranteed support response time.
- We may end the beta, or your place in it, at any time. If we end the beta itself, we will give you a reasonable period to download your projects and exports first.
2. Your account
- You sign in with a Google account. What we receive from Google is described in the Privacy Policy.
- An account is for one person. Do not share your sign-in.
- You must be at least 14 years old. If you are under 18, you need a parent's or legal guardian's consent to use the service.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
3. Your footage stays yours
You keep every right you already had in the footage you upload and in the cuts, subtitles, project files and exports SudoCut produces from it. We claim no ownership of any of it.
To run and improve the service, you grant us a limited licence to store, copy, transcode, transcribe and analyse your media, and to generate cuts, subtitles, previews, project files and exports from it. The licence is limited to operating and improving SudoCut, and it ends for a given file when that file is deleted.
Where and how that material is stored, who processes it with us, and what else we use it for are set out in the Privacy Policy.
If we ever want to show your work — a clip in a demo, your channel's name as a beta user — we will ask you first, every time.
4. What you upload
By uploading, you confirm that:
- you hold the rights to the footage, audio and any music in it;
- where consent is needed, the people who appear or speak in it have given it;
- uploading it breaks no law and no agreement you are under.
Do not upload content that is illegal in the United States or where you are, sexual content involving minors, material created to harass a person, or anything you do not hold the rights to.
We do not review uploads before processing them. If a project is reported to us as breaking this section, we may remove it and suspend the account.
5. Publishing to YouTube
Connecting a YouTube channel is optional. If you use it:
- SudoCut uses YouTube API Services, and by using that feature you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy; ours is in section 4 of our Privacy Policy.
- You decide what gets published. Nothing is uploaded to your channel until you confirm that upload.
- The rules in section 4 apply to anything you publish this way, and YouTube's own policies apply on top of them. A video that is fine to hold in a SudoCut project may still breach YouTube's rules, and that is between you and YouTube.
- You can disconnect at any time — in SudoCut, or at security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. Videos already published stay on your channel; delete those on YouTube.
6. Credits and payment
- Processing is metered in raw minutes — the length of the source material, not of the finished edit.
- Joining the beta credits you 600 raw minutes (10 hours).
- Top-ups are one-time credit packs at ₩100 per raw minute. Prices are in KRW.
- Re-processing the same source does not cost credits again.
- Credits are a right to use the service. They are not money, not transferable and not exchangeable for cash.
- Credits are not refundable, except where the law of your country requires it. If a job fails because of a fault on our side, write to support@sudo-cut.com and we will look at it.
- The launch prices shown on our pricing page are a stated target, not an offer. Nothing there can be bought today.
7. Using the service properly
Do not resell or sublicense access, share your account with people outside your organisation, work around credit accounting, probe or overload the service, attempt to access other users' projects, reverse-engineer the service, or use it to build a competing product.
8. What we do not promise
The beta is provided as it is. Every cut SudoCut makes is a suggestion on a timeline you still own — review it before you publish. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, that a cut will be correct, or that a transcript will be accurate.
Keep your own copy of your original footage. SudoCut is a processing service, not a backup service.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost data, lost opportunity or other indirect or consequential damage. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the six months before the claim arose — which, during a free beta, may be nothing.
Nothing here excludes liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Suspension and ending
You may stop at any time. To close your account and have your data deleted, write to support@sudo-cut.com.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we are legally required to, or if we end the beta. Credits do not survive the end of your access and are not refunded, except where the law requires it.
11. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The date at the top of this page changes with them, and we email beta users before a material change takes effect. Continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept the new version.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of mandatory law in the country you live in.
